Who We Are

StaffSafe are a team of retired police officers with a combined service that exceeds sixty years. Our experiences have ranged through a wide spectrum of policing, from ‘front-line’ enforcement in communities to strategic partnership working.

One of the earliest and lasting lessons of most, Caird Forsyth
Caird Forsyth
if not all, police officers is the potentially destructive effect the inappropriate use of alcohol and drugs can have on individuals, families and communities.

Experience & Knowledge

In addition to the normal training we went through at the Scottish Police College we also attended the Home Office Crime Prevention Centre for specific training in crime reduction and community safety. Both colleges recognised as world leaders in both disciplines.

Partnership working at all levels

We have vast experience of partnership working at all levels and have advised people in Communities, Local Authorities, the Scottish Executive, Businesses, Trade Unions, the Voluntary Sector and more.

Working with communities we helped to set up one of the first and foremost community run self help groups in Scotland.

Licensed Trade guidance document

In addition to delivering drug awareness training, we have also produced a guidance document on drug awareness for the Licensed Trade as well as developing a policy on drug recognition and the legal aspect of searching customers for illegal substances.

Our team has written and introduced a ‘needle replacement’ scheme for an organisation as well as numerous drug and alcohol policies.

Recognition of Expertise

Members of our team have been honoured to attend receptions at the House of Lords, Number 10 Downing Street and Edinburgh Castle in recognition of their work in the field of drugs in communities.

You can benefit from our experience

Our enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff will give you the benefit of that knowledge and experience to help you identify how alcohol and drugs in the workplace can pose risks to the safety of your staff and the security of your business.

StaffSafe would then work with you to advise on sustainable solutions, tailored to the specific needs of your organisation.

Working together we can improve the safety of your working environment.
