Why StaffSafe
Advice on Drugs and Alcohol in the Workplace
Through our combined police service we have gained a wealth of experience and knowledge of situations that expose people to risk, particularly as a result of the inappropriate use of alcohol and drugs.
Over the years we have attended at many serious criminal incidents and road accidents where the major contributory factor was either drugs or alcohol, in some cases both.
Experience working with communities
As well as experiencing many years working in communities, enforcing the various drug and criminal laws, our various promotions through the police ranks took us to a position where we had a lead role in the the strategic partnership approach to working with others outside the police service to make communities safer.
These partners included, people in Communities, Local Authorities, the Health Service, the Scottish Executive, Businesses, Trade Unions, the Voluntary Sector and more.
Drug and alcohol use in communities
A large part of our work was about drug and alcohol use in communities and it was directly as a result of this we gained much experience in the areas of treatment, rehabilitation and education. (Guidance & advice; InfoScotland.com)
